Indian Government may Increase Import Duty on Spices & Edible Oil

Government to promote domestic industry soon Import duty on edible oil & Spices are set to increase above at 2 percent. According to exclusive food ministry cleared the proposal and is awaiting approval from the cabinet.

Import duty on refined edible oil sources increased from 10 per cent to be 7.per cent. However, the imported vegetable oil such as soy and palm oil increased from 10 percent to be 7.3 percent.

After the decision to increase import duty instead of eating refined crude oil will increase, which will ease the domestic industry. In India Indonesia after the change in duty import refined oil is 10 to 40 per cent. According to industry import duty will not increase the burden on the customer.

India Agri Spices fall 10 percent due to last year

First 3 month on the year we noticed, India Spices Export was down at around 10 percent due to last year, primarily on the back of fall to the state of America and Bangladesh also.

India's total spices exports under three month of the year was $ 1.5 billion in the present financial year. This is data showed agriculture and processed food products export development authority.

All India Agriculture export to the us were down more than 55 percent at around 791 dollar million over the last three month . Bangladesh also fall value at around 65 percent over three month more than 885 dollar million last year, India exported jaggers and confectionery worth 150 dollar million to Bangladesh, against the first 3 month financial year.

Indian Govermnet Now Close watch Agri Spices Warehouses

Spices of IndianAfter rejected of Indian spices of United states of America,Indian Government took steps is strictly, Soon after the government warehouse NSEL all the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority may mandatory registration. According to exclusive information about the Consumer Affairs Ministry has sent a proposal to the Finance Ministry. WDRA have been asked to submit details of the proposal.

According to  Sources WDRA registration will be considered only on receipt of bank guarantee. The warehouse will be recognized commodity exchange without registration. Warehouse without registering will not be traded in the spot exchange upon receipt. The decision will help prevent disturbances like NSEL.
